Mr. Maldonado leads the firms practice group focused on the representation of telecommunications and new technology clients and Corporate and Commercial Transactions. His prior litigation experience includes cases and controversies at the state and federal trial level regarding the breach of carrier contract, carrier billing disputes, patent infringement, prosecution of trade secret disclosure, prosecution of civil fraud and theft, defense and prosecution of non-competition/non-disclosure claims, civil forfeiture and enforcement action defense, breach of contracts over satellite services, defense of civil RICO, criminal defense and governmental tort liability. His appellate practice is limited State and Federal claims regarding administrative appeals, governmental tort liability and constitutional claims.
Mr. Maldonado’s transactional practice includes business planning, business negotiations, new technology business planning, Foreign PTT Negotiations, International representation, corporate structuring, corporate acquisitions, administrative action defense and petitions before the federal and state agencies, Stored Value regulatory compliance and business planning, and Money Service Business planning and structuring.
In 2004, Mr. Maldonado consulted and participated in the drafting and passage of the Illinois Phone Card Fraud Act, a law aimed at curbing consumer fraud by unstable and uncertified providers. Mr. Maldonado regularly advocates on issues concerning regulatory affairs of common carriers (TDM and VoIP) before the FCC and State Public Utility Commissions. Mr. Maldonado currently writes The Prepaid Press' Legal-Line, addressing legal issues related to the prepaid calling service industry; and is a frequent contributor to several trade magazines in the Telecommunications industry in both English and Spanish.

Mr. Pineda is Colombian attorney with extensive experience in administrative law and international commercial contracts. Mr. Pineda holds a J.D. (Cum Laude) from Our Lady of the Rosary College of Law in Bogotá Colombia (1988) and holds an Economics and Political Science from the University of Paris VIII (1977-1981). Mr. Pineda has presented and organized numerous seminars for businesses in Colombia on Administrative Law and Public Contracts (Bogotá 1985-1996) and has served as Public Contract Drafting and Negotiation Workshop Coordinator for ESAP in Bogotá, Colombia (1995-1998).
Mr. Pineda has prior teaching experience at the graduate level in legal coursework as an Associate Professor of Law at Our Lady of the Rosary College of Law (1989-1993) and as a Professor of Constitutional Law at Catholic University, Bogotá, Colombia (1992).
In recent years Mr. Pineda has been a consultant on transactional and telecommunications regulatory requirements as well as Colombian telecommunications and Public Contracts Law for U.S. and multinational providers working in Colombia and the Andean Pact nations. From 2002 to the present, Mr. Pineda has served as an independent telecommunications regulatory consultant in Miami, Florida for International and foreign Providers adapting to FCC and state regulatory requirements.
Mr. Pineda is also a legal interpreter and translator (English-Spanish-French) and has provided support to international telecommunication companies in litigation and arbitration in Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia. Mr. Pineda serves in the MLG Telecommunication Practice Group and works closely with Partner Edward A. Maldonado on international telecommunications transactions, litigation, and regulatory work.

Mr. Veizaga holds a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelors in International Political Economy from University of Bridgeport. At Nova Southeastern University, Mr. Veizaga was on the Dean’s list in the Fall of 2007. He participated in Trial Advocacy, Civil pre-trial as well as Interviewing and Counseling courses. At the University of Bridgeport, He participated in courses such as United Nations Studies, Foreign Political Economy and several pre-law courses such as Business Law.
Mr. Veizaga has worked in several areas while preparing for his law degree. He worked at places such as Merrill Lynch, where he participated in the development of trusts, and Washington Mutual, where he was heavily involved with financial transactions. While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Veizaga worked with prominent law firms in the areas of Zoning and Land Development as well as Civil litigation.
Since joining the Maldonado Law Group, Mr. Veizaga has worked closely with Telecommunications and Corporate transactions. He was participated in the development of corporate contracts along with minor Criminal Defense work.
